Myth-Busting: Do You Have to See A Chiropractor Forever?
One of the most common questions we hear is:
“Once I start chiropractic care, do I have to go forever?”
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Chiropractic care is completely flexible and tailored to your goals—not a one-size-fits-all schedule.
At Ascend Chiropractic, our focus is always on getting to the root cause of your issue and helping your body function the way it was designed to. For many patients, that means starting with more frequent visits to address pain, restriction, or dysfunction. As things improve, visits naturally space out.
From there, it’s up to you.
That said, we strongly encourage some level of maintenance care, and that can look different for everyone. For some patients, that may mean coming in every 2–3 weeks. For others, it may be once a month, or even every 6–8 weeks.
Could you just come in when something flares up or “feels off”? Of course. But that’s exactly what we’re trying to help you avoid.
Maintenance care is about staying ahead of pain—not chasing it.
Your ideal frequency depends on a number of factors, including your lifestyle, job demands, activity level, and how well you’re taking care of your body between visits (things like movement, posture, exercise, and recovery all play a role).
Think of it like:
Going to the gym for strength and mobility
Getting regular dental cleanings
Or maintaining your car to prevent bigger issues down the road
You don’t have to do any of those forever—but they can make a big difference in how well things function over time.
At Ascend Chiropractic, we never lock you into a contract, so the choice in frequency is always yours. Our role is to guide you, educate you, and support you in making the best decisions for your health.
We want to help you move better, feel better, and ultimately become your healthiest self—whatever that looks like for you.
If you’ve been putting off care because of this concern, we hope this brings some clarity.
